Hi All, I will start this one with `how busy I've been` excuse that I wasn't even aware about the ongoing **grub 2:2.06.r322.gd9b4638c5-1** issue.

**Symptom**: Unable to boot system after upgrading to grub 2:2.06.r322.gd9b4638c5-1

**Cause**: As per user "dalto" on FS#75701, this  seems to be related to the changes to 30\_uefi-firmware, where a call to fwsetup was added to the code.

**Resolution**: As on 31st Aug, there's no direct resolution to this issue, however there's a workaround, which is (also proposed by user dalto on 26th Aug 2022):

Either install Arch on a UEFI machine and follow the below steps after upgrade *or downgrade grub* on a non-uefi machine.

1\. Update grub

2\. Run `grub-install` followed by `grub-mkconfig`

3\. Reboot and it should work, if not then from the boot menu, select your boot partition (usually the name of your distro)

Hi All,

I have decided to 
discontinue the Gnome edition of Peux OS. The reason behind this is, 
Peux is a riced-distro, the essence of it is in "Ricing" and 
"Customizing" while of-course sticking with Pure Arch repositories and 
then deliver it to the end-users, Gnome is slowly defeating that very 
purpose.

Gnome, is my favorite desktop environment out of all DEs 
out there ( I'm a Gnome fanboy ), but its continuous progress, has made 
it harder to keep the customization consistent. The extensions are not 
coming from "upstream" and you'd then have to wait for the maintainer of
 the extension to provide a fix, they might even discontinue the 
development. Due to all of this, there's no synchronization between 
extensions and Gnome versioning amid the releases.

To keep it short, I will archive all the old Gnome-ISOs.

Discontinuing Gnome ISO

If you are running an operating 
system on a battery-based device, then power-management plays a big role
 in the long run. Window managers doesn't have the capabilty to manage 
power or monitor your device's battery on its own.

In the previous
 version of WMs, 'cbatticon' was present to monitor the device's 
battery, however I find 'lxqt-powermanagement' to be more handy because 
it doesn't only provide a battery-watcher but also provides idle-watcher
 and lid-watcher, which is very handy, especially in the case of 
laptops.

By default, none of this is active, which makes sense, 
since not every device is going to be a laptop or a battery-based 
device. In order to run this, follow the below mentioned steps:

1.  Run "power-management" from app-launcher or the equivalent command "lxqt-config-powermanagement" from the terminal.

2.  Enable the functions that you'd like to have and then close the window.

3.  Add "lxqt-powermanagement" as a startup process to the configuration file of whatever WM that you are running. That's it.

4.  Reload the WM or restart the session for it to take effect.

It runs as a daemon and will send the relative desktop notifications based on the events that it receives from monitoring.



How to enable power-management on WMs?

Xfce**-blur-effects** is the actual name. It is a shameless copy of James Hoover's XFCE Effects. His site goes by  [**Kalideva**](https://www.kalideva.com/). All the credits for this package goes to him. If you are using XUBUNTU, then utilize the package on his site.

Since
 you can only create transparency to a certain level in XFWM4's default 
compositor settings, hence this was created by James only for Xubuntu.

I only changed the installation commands to port it to Arch-Linux. Few things to keep in mind before installing this:

*   Run software/package update before you install this

*   make the file executable by running chmod +x xfwm-effects-install.sh

\- **never run this without root-privileges**,
 or you will end up corrupting your Window manager. The end result would
 be a black screen after reboot. It's on you and you only.
